Opposite to the Kalyan Mosque lies the Mir-i Arab Madrasa. It was built in 1530’s during the reign of Ubaydullah Khan, the Shaybanid appanage in Bukhara. It continues to function even today as a madrasa and just like the Kalyan Mosque, resembles the traditional four-iwan courtyard plan.
