Although Serbia as a country is filled with various archaeological sites, Lepenski Vir is known to be one of the best archaeological sites in the country. Lepenski Vir is situated on the right bank of the Danube in the Iron Gates, but the condition of the place is in ruins. This tremendous archaeological site was discovered in the 1960s, but still, the whole of it could not be excavated.
