Description
The Cascade or popularly known as the Yerevan Cascade is the huge limestone made staircase located in the capital city Yerevan of Armenia. The Cascade is designed by the architects Jim Torosyan, AslanMkhitaryan, and SargisGurzadyan. The construction of this Cascade was started in 1971 and completed partly in 1980. Inside the Cascade, there are seven elevators, exhibit halls and the Cafesjian Museum of Art. Outside is decorated with several fountains and sculptures. Many restaurants and cafes are there on both sides of the Cascade for the visitors. Various musical concerts take place in the seasons of spring, summer, and autumn. The Cascade is a great place to view the central Yerevan and Mount Ararat.
